Mike Bernath
Mike has more than 28 years of mechanical, steamfitting, and boiler experience. He has spent his entire career in the boiler and piping industry. In 1990, he graduated from a 5-year apprenticeship program through UA Local 290 out of Portland, Oregon and has worked for several prominent companies that specialized in boiler, combustion and steam systems, In 1993 he founded NW Industrial Mechanics, Inc. and in 1999 founded Boiler House Sales and Service NW.
Mike has been involved in all aspects of the boiler industry ranging from sales, service, installation and repair and is diversified in steam system design. He also assists customers in improving and maximizing boiler and steam systems for reliable and efficient operation, focusing on boilers, boiler room equipment and accessories, combustion, controls, heat recovery, condensate recovery, and preventative maintenance. He has been involved in every aspect of projects from the certified welder to project manager.
In addition to his qualifications and experience, Mike wrote and developed the Quality Control (QC) Program in 1999 that has been accepted by the ASME. Because of this QC Program NW Industrial Mechanics, Inc. is an ASME authorized Power Piping (PP) Stamp holder and a National Board Repair (R) Stamp holder which allows NWIM to build stamped Power Piping, repair and alter boilers and pressure vessels. Since 1999 this program has been renewed and approved by the ASME and National Board every three years.
